How to make a sophisticated Maple Canchanchara
The Canchanchara is a 19th century drink that originated in Cuba. The classic drink combines rum, lime, honey and water but this Maple Canchanchara recipe adds a sophisticated twist.
The result is a refreshing yet crisp pairing of rum and lime, lightly sparkled with tonic water and embodied with warm maple syrup.

Ingredients
25ml Rum - Mid aged
1/2 Lime
1x barspoon (tsp) maple syrup
Premium Tonic or Soda Water
Ice
Equipment Needed
Cocktail shaker
Knife & Board
Stirring stick
Method
Pour your chosen rum and maple syrup into the shaker.
Cut a lime in half, squeeze and drop into the shaker.
Fill the shaker with ice and shake hard for 10 seconds.
Fill a highball glass with ice and insert sliced wheels of lime around the inside.
Strain the contents of the shaker into the glass and top with your chosen mixer.
Enjoy your refreshing tipple in the evening or serve at lunch with friends.
