The classic Piña Colada paid tribute by Nicaragua's No.1 rum distillery Flor de Cana.
When visiting the Flor de Cana Distillery I stayed in the lovely town of Leon at Isla Encantada Hostel. It had recently been taken over by a lovely couple called Jay and Mitti who were keen to build cocktails into their drinks menu.
This was a great opportunity to share my knowledge so I went of to the shops to buy supplies and we spent an evening perfecting cocktails for them.
As a homage to Flor de Cana we created the Nica Piña. A delicious Piña Colada using only spirits from the Flor range.
