THE SOCIALIST DAIQUIRI - Recipe

Enjoy the nectar of the gods with this twist on a daiquiri.

A perfect blend of rums sweetened by agave syrup and the elusive vanilla Navan liqueur.

A few years back I was unfortunate to get cancer. Luckily it was caught early and removed but it’s had a profound impact on my outlook to life, which must be enjoyed. Since then I enjoy a shot of Navan every time I get an all clear result.

Navan is a viscous vanilla liquor created by Grand Marnier which is no longer produced. A fitting drink to be enjoyed despite its limited availability.

A recent celebration lead me to create this lovely twist on a daiquiri. I hope you all agree it is a true taste to be enjoyed as life intended it.

Serves: 1

Ingredients

Half a lime

12.5ml agave syrup

25ml Goslings

12.5ml Flora De Cana 7

12.5ml Navan (for those not lucky enough to have a bottle, Galliano is pretty close)

Cubed Ice

Equipment Needed

Cocktail Shaker

Knife & Board

Coupe Glass

Method

  1. Cut and squeeze half a lime into a cocktail shaker and discard.

  2. Measure and pour in the spirits and agave syrup.

  3. Fill with cubed ice and give it a good old shake.

  4. Strain into a coupe or martini glass

Savour the godly taste and reflect on the good things in life that should be savoured.
